Join us for our Winter Lecture Series - workshops designed for the home gardener.

First, a short discussion about the invasive Jumping Worm. We will discuss identifying the worm, the damage it does, and what can be done. The second part of the talk will focus on the decline of many insect populations, and the related reduction in the number of birds. We will discuss why this might be happening, the possible consequences, and especially what gardeners can do to help maintain healthy insect levels in their own yards, while at the same time, helping other creatures that depend on insects to survive.

About the Instructor: Cecily Frazier is a Master Gardener Volunteer in Ulster County, a life-long organic gardener, and someone who loves to learn new things about her passion: gardening. She volunteers at the Vanderbilt Garden, and is a founding member of the Rhinebeck Village Tree Commission.

Fee: $15
